I hired an attorney to represent me in a restraining order case. I paid him upfront and I even went out of my way preparing the entire case for him which was organized neatly in a binder with supporting documents. At the hearing, this idiot took everything out of the binder, spread it all over the desk then managed to drop most of it on the floor, all in full view of everyone in attendance. This was a total buffoon. He used up all the time the impatient judge would give us and I promptly lost my case, not because of the facts, but because he was an imbecile. Do I have any recourse?
